Week 71 Less is More

This is my design for Week 71 of the Less is More Challenge.  The stamps I have used are ones which I have had in my stash for a long time and I can't remember where they are from, I think they may have been some free samples from a magazine but I am not sure.  I used Adirondak Denim ink and I coloured part of the image with the ink from the stamp pad and a water brush.  This was my third effort, firstly I made a frame round the card with the flourish stamp and then decided it was not "Less is More" so I did just one corner, but chickened out from that thinking it was perhaps a step too far and finally did the other corner for balance.

  1. This is pretty Maggie, but maybe another time you'll be brave enough to fill just one corner. If you were to put the sentiment nearer to the decorated corner (if you only did one) it would become unified and stand alone quite happily.
    Maybe next time!
    Super job.
    Thanks so much

  2. I like Chrissie's suggestions, but here's one of my own. You could also try stamping the flourish once on either side of the sentiment. I often layer a strip of paper behind something, and this would have the same effect, but still be one layer. That said, I like this card. The denim blue on the pure white is very classic, not to mention classy.

  4. Hi Maggie
As I looked at your card and read your comment, I too would say only one corner would work, but, maybe with a horizontal sentiment.
Thats a pretty flourish and a lovely card
    Thanks very much

  6. Like this as it is, but think one corner would have worked just as well with the sentiment placed near it! (Not that I'm any expert- LOL.) The ink colour looks really nice - might have to invest!
